The tides are turning on The Bold and the Beautiful and things are getting…shocking and confusing, especially for Dollar Bill. We got in touch with his portrayer, Don Diamont, for an in-depth talk about this messy and scandalous situation.
Don Diamont Tells All!
It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride ever since Poppy (Romy Park) broke the news that Bill could be Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) daddy. The DNA test was done right in the Spencer living room and everyone was stunned by the results…only to be stunned even more later on when the new test sang a different tune.
For now, Bill is in the dark about the reasons why those tests were a mess. Does he suspect Luna at all? “No,” says the actor. “He’s not suspecting anything sinister.” Oh, if Dollar Bill only knew…
As if that wasn’t jaw-dropping enough, B&B viewers across the globe collectively screamed in horror when Luna leaned over and kissed the man she thought was her dad, not half an hour before. For Diamont, this was the moment that changed everything. “It probably takes a bit for Bill to be taken aback but, you know, he was certainly taken aback by it! Just surprised, shocked. He didn’t see that coming.”
The first kiss had us all in absolute awe (and, not in a good way) but the second was even more jarring. Still, it wasn’t quite a wake-up call for Bill. “He certainly can’t imagine that there’s anything sinister,” Diamont says of his housemate. “Luna is emotional, distraught, and focused. He thinks she is misdirected and feels desperate and vulnerable. He thinks she’s just a mixed-up kid. She certainly has daddy issues.”
Watching Luna’s character give in to her darker impulses was a sight to see for fans…and for the cast, too. “I think Lisa is scratching the surface of how wonderful she is. I’m really proud of the way she stepped up and did such a great job.”
Luna may be gunning for Bill’s love, but it doesn’t seem like the powerhouse has much interest in the young lady he thought was his child. So, we had to ask…what about Bill and Katie? With Poppy tucked away in prison, is it possible he’ll get close to his soulmate again? “He will always love Katie but she’s really pushed back on them getting together and really rejected him. He wrestles with how he feels about her.”
If Katie (Heather Tom) is off the market, we suggested another woman in town: Taylor (Rebecca Budig). “Wow, I never thought that,” Diamont admits. “Certainly, I wouldn’t be averse to it. That would certainly create some conflict. There’s nothing sexier than a woman who has shot you in the back!”
When all is said and done, and the truth is out, and the dust has settled, what would Diamont want for his character’s future? “In a sunshine and rainbows world, he would reunite with Katie and they’d live happily ever after,” the actor shares. “But, we don’t live in that world. I want something that creates conflict, drama, and challenges.”
