Katherine Kelly Lang has spent nearly her entire adult life playing the role of blonde bombshell Brooke Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful. Over the years she’s garnered five Daytime Emmy nominations for Lead Actress. This year, she has another shot at taking home the trophy.
Daytime Greatness
Lang sat down with Soap Hub to talk about her nomination and what scenes she decided to submit. “It’s hard to pick the scenes that you think are worthy,” she says. “I went back and forth…do I put scenes together that will tell a story? Then, I just decided to submit two [shows] back-to-back that are the culmination of the Brooke and Taylor [Krista Allen] friendship [ending].” She told the publication. “It was definitely good writing and good storytelling. Ridge [Thorsten Kaye] comes in towards the end and witnesses all of that. So, that’s what I ended up submitting. It got me a nomination and I’m happy about that.”
The news of her name making it to the nomination list brought her immense joy. She was horseback riding in the mountains when the call came in, which sounds like the perfect way to hear the announcement. “I was screaming and yelling on top of the mountain,” she relayed. “I didn’t expect it because I almost didn’t even submit.”
Now, it’s just a waiting game for the big night to see who goes home a winner. The Daytime Emmys are set to air on June 7th.
