Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor, The Bold and the Beautiful) has been showing up, and showing out, on Hope’s (Annika Noelle) behalf — much to Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) chagrin, — his chivalry stemming from a heady combination of good business sense and intoxicating desire for Ms. Logan.
Lawrence Saint-Victor Talks Carter Vs. Steffy
Said Saint-Victor in a recent interview with Soaps.sheknows: “First of all, the Forresters are like family to him, so business is always personal for him. But now, with his feelings for Hope, he’s seeing how she’s been sort of devalued by Steffy and how that’s bleeding into Hope For the Future.”
Steffy, of course, thoroughly disagrees, and she’s more than taken aback by Carter’s unwavering position and refusal to simply bow to her whims — which Saint-Victor points out is at the very root of the characters’ discord.
“[Carter] is in an important enough position at Forrester that he should be able to question his CEOs and have a discussion…[Steffy] might be feeling disrespected by Carter, but he’s feeling disrespected by her. He’s like, ‘I’m your COO. Why aren’t you hearing me? You can say no, but let’s really talk about this first.’
“She’s making him feel like just some employee, and that’s where some of their personal clashes start to happen.”
