Eric Has Tragic News
Eric (John McCook) still can’t believe he is dying but is still determined to make the next six months the best of his life. That requires winning the fashion showdown and debuting his final fashion line to rave reviews. This is his legacy and no illness is going to stop him no matter what the doctor says.
He still doesn’t want Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) to know what’s going on because he is sure it will affect the outcome of the contest, but can he really keep this secret from the grandson who helped him create these latest gowns? Spoilers say that Eric makes a heartbreaking admission just before the models are set to walk down the runway that will change things in his family forever.
Eric knows he has to keep it together for just a few more hours, but he also needs to tell the truth. Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Katie (Heather Tom) know but they weren’t instrumental in the creation of his final collection. Still, he needs to confide in someone else and his closeness with RJ might be just the person to tell.
RJ’s Emotional Journey
RJ is set to become emotional when he hears unexpected news, so it looks like Eric finds the strength to tell him what’s really going on. He knew it had to be more than just arthritis, but never could imagine that his beloved Grandpa had a fatal disease.
Poor RJ will not know what to do with this news. He already came close to telling Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge that Eric has been having health problems, but chickened out because he didn’t want to betray Eric’s trust. Now, he will know that Eric is dying, so where will he turn?
RJ has found a confidante in Luna (Lisa Yamada), but he really needs his family for this. He knows that Ridge has every right to know what’s going on, but can he keep this secret until after the fashion show ends? It’s a difficult dilemma for RJ as he tries to decide what to do with the most devastating news of his young life.
