Just before tragedy struck their burgeoning family, Days of our Lives‘ Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) seemed poised to leave their lives in Salem behind for the lure of Hollywoodland — but the actors, and indeed the fans, needn’t have worried. They weren’t going anywhere.

“I did have a bit of a panic attack when I first read Johnny and Chanel [were moving to California],” confessed Boatman to Soap Opera Digest. Luckily, reassurances were issued forthwith. ” They were gracious enough to come down on set and let Raven and me know, ‘Hey, you’re going to see that you’re moving to L.A., but you’re not. It’s just part of a story.’ Janet Spellman-Drucker [co-executive producer] pulled us aside and let us know that. It was very nice, very kind of her.”
As for what the future holds for the couple, Boatman offered: “You never know. Just when you think they’re going to be happy, a wrench gets thrown into those plans. At least it seems that way most of the time, right?”
