Days of Our Lives spoilers for January 2, 2024, promise more fallout from Holly’s New Year’s Eve overdose.

Tate’s In The Hot Seat

As poor Holly (Ashley Puzemis) lingers in a coma, poor Tate (Jamie Martin Mann) is the one falsely blamed for what happened to her. EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) is always determined to make someone pay when they hurt a loved one and a teenage boy is no exception. In fact, he vows to put Tate behind bars for hurting Holly even though he did what he could to talk EJ’s stepdaughter out of taking the illegal pills.

At least Theresa (Emily O’Brien) seems to believe in her son and listens to his side of the story when Brady (Eric Martsolf) brings him back to John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) place. Brady and Theresa will be by Tate’s side through this ordeal, which only looks like it’s about to get so much worse. However, they know their son and what they taught him about doing drugs.

The Blame Game Is Everywhere

Meanwhile, knowing that the overdose took place behind his mother’s restaurant, Tripp (Lucas Adams) demands that Ava (Tamara Braun) tell him if she is somehow involved with this new illegal drug trade that’s arrived in Salem. As a doctor, he keeps seeing the effects of it and prays that Ava has nothing to do with it.

Little does he know that Ava is only doing Clyde’s (James Read) dirty work to save his life. Perhaps he and Wendy (Victoria Grace) better leave for China sooner rather than later.

EJ already knows that Stefan (Brandon Barash) has been helping Clyde with his new illegal operation because Stefan came to him for help. While he blames Tate for giving Holly pills, he blames his brother for the pills making their way into teenage hands to begin with.

To make matters worse for Ava and Stefan, Clyde has a new set of orders in store for the reluctant drug traffickers. Will they continue to do whatever Clyde says or will they find someone on the inside to help bring this madman down? Here’s looking at you, Lucas (Bryan R. Dattilo).
