“Actress”, “trailblazer”, and now “scriptwriter” and “executive producer” — there’s really nothing the über-talented Cassandra James (Dr. Terry Randolph, General Hospital) can’t do when she puts her mind to it.

“Today my first film, “Claude” is making its world premiere,” touted James on Instagram. “Leading up to this moment has been a whirlwind, so eye-opening and wonderfully inspiring. I’ve learned so much about the business of making a film a reality, how to produce and promote the “product” and through it all I have such a continued and overwhelming sense of gratitude for every single person who helped make this moment possible. Thank you.
“But at the heart of this project is a very vulnerable truth. And for the first time, people I don’t know will see this film. It’s emotional to realize that from this moment on this film is officially greater than me. “Claude” is a gift to all the survivors, to the girls like us, to the lonely and open-hearted. It was so healing being held through this journey and I hope this film helps hold you too. I see you, I believe you, I love you. And so does Claude.”

James previously detailed that the flick, directed by her GH costar Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), was “born out of a desire to elevate transgender storytelling in Hollywood, to shed light on the transfeminine experience, to lift the veil on the isolation and power inequities that many trans folks and many women navigate.”
What’s more, the story is “very autobiographical, deeply vulnerable and it was transformative to finally speak my truth.”
