Jonathan Jackson is soon to reappear on General Hospital for what is being termed “a long run,” and per the ABC sudser’s own social media accounts, the actor is currently on set and hard at work.

Jackson reportedly reported to the set on August 5th, and that auspicious day was commemorated with a snap of him posed beside a poster heralding the 1993 return of his onscreen parents, Luke and Laura.
Alongside the photo was the caption: “We are so very lucky (see what we did there) to have [Jonathan Jackson] back in the building… and you won’t have to wait long to see what he has in store for Port Charles.
Fellow GHer Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) summed up many a fan’s thoughts when she commented, “Cannot WAIT!!”

News of Jackson’s reprisal broke in June. His alter-ego is to be accompanied back home by Emma Samm’ Holly Sutton.
Jackson first debuted in October 1993 and during his initial six-year tenure he won three (non-consecutive) Daytime Emmy Awards and legions of fans, especially once he was paired opposite Rebecca Herbst’s Elizabeth.
Though succeeded by soap hoppers Jacob Young (ex-Rick Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-JR Chandler, All My Children) and Greg Vaughan (ex-Diego Guittierez, The Young and the Restless; ex-Eric Brady, Days of our Lives), Jackson would go on to helm the role (on and off) from 2009 to 2015 (during which time he snagged two more Daytime Emmys.
