General Hospital fans far and wide have been grousing for some time over Cody’s (Josh Kelly) refusal to come clean with Mac (John J. York) about their paternal connection — but Kelly understands his alter-ego’s actions (make that inaction) all too well.

Josh Kelly Talks Cody’s Paternity Pickle

The actor told Soap Opera Digest: “Cody’s feelings toward Mac’s family have gotten deeper, and he’s really entrenching himself into their lives, so it’s like he’s digging his own grave.”

What’s more, Cody isn’t really sure how to come clean this late in the game (after all, this story has been (SLOWLY) unspooling since 2022), especially considering what’s at stake.

Said Kelly: “He’s still ashamed; he’s really ashamed of what he did, and now he feels like more of a liar, you know? He lied about the paternity test and sometimes it feels like it’s easier to live in a lie. He’s got a good thing going, everyone’s getting along right now, and he knows that if he tells the truth, it’s gonna cause chaos and it might cause irreparable damage.
