Earlier this year, Rena Sofer (Lois Cerullo, General Hospital) was devastated by the loss of fur-baby Alfie from canine cancer. Now the actress has found the perfect way to keep her beloved with her at all times.
Rena Sofer’s New Tattoo
Sofer recently took to Instagram with a carousel of images and videos filmed at the Shamrock Social Club. She captioned the collection: “THANK YOU to the amazing [Julianne Ashby] and [Shamrock Social Club] for the amazing new tattoo of my boy Alfie. I’ve had such a hard time saying goodbye to my ❤️dog and I wanted to see his adorable face every day. Julianne did the most incredible single needle work and spent as much time as I needed getting him just right!!”
Sofer also gave a special shout-out to hubby Sanford Bookstaver for being ” my all around photographer and emotional support everything!”
The Bold and Beautiful alum and Bookstaver have fostered many many dogs over the years, but Alfie was a special pup in that he and his sister, Mega, were the first dogs that the Sofer rescued back in 2017.
At the time of Alfie’s departure, Sofer wrote in part: “I only had my boy for seven years and eight days. Cancer stole him from me, from Sandy, from Avalon, and from his sister, Mega. From everyone who knew and loved him. I love all my dogs, but without remorse, Alfie was my favorite. My heart and soul dog. I am destroyed and numb. The greatest gift we ever gave each other was each other. I will miss you forever and ever and ever.”
