On today’s episode of The Daily Drama Podcast — still proudly brought to you by DailyDrama.com — Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson welcomed the former’s play son, Asher Antonyzyn AKA Danny Morgan.
The Daily Drama Podcast Welcomes Asher Antonyzyn
At the top of the interview, Antonyzyn granted that gracing the small (and, potentially, the big screen) wasn’t really uppermost in his mind. “Acting always seemed super fun but I was always a little nervous about it. I was never really big with going out [on the stage] and doing all that stuff…”

But with more than a little encouragement from his mom — and theater major and life-long aspiring actress — he soon enrolled in classes and discovered that an actor’s life might just be for him.
When the opportunity to audition for GH arose, Antonyzyn and co. “though it a was long shot…we did it, and ten days later we got a calling saying they wanted to do an in-person audition…We threw the Hail Mary and went…I was so nervous; I did not know what to expect. General Hospital is my first job. My first acting job ever.”
Rather than being thrown into the deep-end like many that had come before him, the Antonyzyn was allowed to wade into the daytime waters. “I was very lucky that my first scene was the Halloween scene…all the kids were there; Hudson [West, Jake Webber] and Lilly [Fisher, Georgie Jones], and Scarlet [Fernandez, Charlotte Cassadine]. They helped me so much…”
On his second day, he was up against the powerhouse that was Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall), then came scenes opposite Steve. (Talk about working with the best of the best!)
In his brief time up at bat, Antonyzyn has certainly proven himself more than capable of running with whatever the ABC sudser throws at him, and he’s found that the work — and the requisite emotion-wringing scenes — have “definitely gotten easier…”
What’s more, the youth has Steve’s seal of approval — and the Stone Cold one teased that the two of them have “some more fun scenes” coming up for viewers’ pleasure.
As for what the Chicago-based Antonyzyn’s friends make of his career: “They all think it’s really cool…They’re all really supportive of it…”
