CBS announced Beyond the Gates will take over for The Talk as the network heads into its 2025 season. Soap fans have been waiting in anticipation for the cast list and we finally have some insight! The show announced three major daytime players will heading up the most prominent family in town!
Beyond the Gates Powerhouse Players
Taking on the role of the family matriarch is Tamara Tunie! The As the World Turns (Jessica Griffin) and Law & Order: SVU (Dr. Melinda Warner) alum will be bringing Anita Dupree to life. She’s said to be a formerly famous singer who is married to a retired senator.
Adding to the Dupree family is Karla Mosley (Maya, The Bold and the Beautiful), who will play Anita’s daughter, Dani Dupree. Her character is a former model who gave up her career for love and to manage her child’s budding career.
Rounding out the roster is Daphnee Duplaix (Rachel Gannon, One Life to Live). She’ll play Anita’s other daughter, Dr. Nicole Dupree. She’s said to be a philanthropist and psychiatrist whose life seems absolutely perfect on the surface. However, behind closed doors, it’s nothing but chaos!
According to Hollywood Reporter, “Beyond the Gates is set in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C., in one of the most affluent African American communities in the country. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered.” This marks CBS’s first soap since B&B’s debut in 1987, and the first soap featuring a primarily black cast since Generations.
