With the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards show fast approaching, the gaggle of nominees is being rounded up and put under the microscope. When they learned and how they learned that their performances were for the gold, what thoughts sped through their heads, what they\u2019ll wear to the kudos fest, who they\u2019ll thank when they\u2019re at the podium \u2014 seemingly nothing is off limits.<\/p>\n
Eric Forrester’s (still to be identified) medical malady proved to be the gift that kept on giving. Not only is The Bold and the<\/em> <\/a>Beautiful\u00a0<\/em>up for big honors (Best Daytime Drama Series and Writing) but the likes of Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan) and Ashley Jones (ex-Bridget Forrester) and even the ailing man of the hour are competing for Daytime Emmy gold.<\/p>\n “The joke is always when you\u2019re in a coma or whatever, everybody else gets to pull up a stool and work on their<\/em> Emmy reel, but you don\u2019t get to,\u201d McCook good-humoredly relayed to Soaps In Depth<\/em><\/a>. “The fact is, it was a wonderful story and the fact that it involved the whole cast, or at least a lot of the people on the show, is the best thing about a good story on a soap\u2026 it involves everyone.”<\/p>\n The actor certainly had a plethora of dramatic developments to sift through. But what, exactly, did he land upon for his reel? Revealed McCook: “I submitted part of a scene with Eric and Ridge in Eric\u2019s office where he is enjoying being behind his own desk. Then a scene in the middle, which was at Eric\u2019s home with Donna where he confesses to her how frightened he is.
