The Young and the Restless recap for the week of May 20th looks back on Ashley falling apart, Summer coming to terms with Claire’s existence, Nikki arriving home, Cole calling Micahel for help, Victor thwarting Jordan’s great escape, and so much more!
Monday, May 20th
Audra (Zuleyka Silver) was all dressed up for her date with Tucker (Trevor St. John) and even showed her outfit off to Sally (Courtney Hope). Oh, and not only was she dumping Tucker, she planned to take Glissade away from him too! Girl power! Later, Sally gave Tucker some sound advice on how to fix this mess.
As for Nate (Sean Dominic), he told Lily (Christel Khalil) and Devon (Bryton James) about his dinner plans. They didn’t love the idea of him dating Audra but there wasn’t much they could say about it. Once he was out of the room, Devon and Lily gossiped about him, Tucker, and touched on how they should deal with Billy. Speaking of Billy (Jason Thompson), he sent Lily flowers and a note about her failing to box him out.
Kyle (Michael Mealor) closed a huge deal with Mr. Foley before welcoming in his new nanny. Claire (Hayley Erin) was thrilled by the job offer and couldn’t wait to start tomorrow. She wasn’t too keen upon hearing Summer (Allison Lanier) wasn’t on board, though. She promptly declined the offer and ran off to talk to her cousin. The ladies went to the Jazz Club for drinks and to hash things out.
Diane (Susan Walters) was not too pleased to get the call from Foley and was shocked to hear Kyle was working behind her back. Adding to her dilemma was Tucker who insisted on pushing all her buttons. Later, Tucker went to Society where he pushed all Audra and Nate’s buttons, too. This led to them escaping to Audra’s hotel room where Tucker then caused quite a scene.
Diane went home and tore into her son. How dare he? This is humiliating! Kyle was proud as a peach, though. He did the unthinkable for Jabot. Look at him proving himself!
Tuesday, May 21st
Cole (J. Eddie Peck) called Victor (Eric Braeden) out on his suspicious behavior and while he tried to cover his tracks, it did no good. Cole was onto him. Victor decided to be more careful, but he still had to feed his captive. This proved to be a mistake. He managed to get the tray of Brussels sprouts to Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and mock her, but Cole caught him sneaking out of the secret tunnel. This led to Cole lurking through the secret passage and finding his aunt!
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Mark Grossman) had quite a bad day with their son. The video called him but Connor promptly hung up. He didn’t like the timing of their call and explained so much to them when they called back. He then told them they were making things worse and hung up again. Adam promptly called the facility to check in with the team. Afterward, he and Chelsea took a walk down Memory Lane.
Audra and Nate had a great breakfast at the Club…until Tucker came along. He inserted himself and Audra made it clear his presence was not welcome. Tucker wasn’t down for long, though. Ashley saw the whole thing and flocked to him like a bird to prey. She took him to the Jazz Club for a few drinks and some flirty talk.
Wednesday, May 22nd
Jordan was just thrilled that Cole found her. That joy didn’t last long, though. Cole wasn’t about to let her out. In fact, he couldn’t. There was no key. Too bad, so sad. Cole left her to rot and took Claire and Victoria to lunch. While there, he was distracted by Jordan’s pleas and phoned up Michael (Christian LeBlanc) for an emergency meeting.
Devon griped and grumbled to Jack about Billy and the bid to take over the company. Jack understood. He’s been there, done that. He did give Devon a tip, though. If Billy is acting underhanded it was because he is feeling undervalued. Use him more. It’s to everyone’s benefit.
At the same time, Nate and Audra had ice cream in the park. It was fun…until Lily interrupted. The company had an important call and she reminded Nate not to be late.
Meanwhile, Traci (Beth Maitland), Alan (Christopher Cousins), and Jack worried about Ashley. They were right to. She was at the Jazz Club downing drinks with Tucker and trying to convince him they were perfect for each other. When Tucker turned her down flat, her alters took to battling and it became so overwhelming that Ashley fainted!
Thursday, May 23rd
Ashley came to with Tucker standing over her in a panic. He tried to talk her into going to the hospital but she refused. Instead, he took her home and made her explain what was going on to Alan and the Abbotts. Alan talked to her alone and suggested she come back to Paris with him for treatment. They had to figure out the trigger to even begin to help her cope.
Cole was so shaken over Jordan that he was distracted while dining with Claire and Victoria. He left the table and made a distress call to Michael. When the legal eagle showed up, Cole hired him as his lawyer for a whole dollar and then told him who Victor had locked up in the dungeon. They agreed Jordan needed to be in a real jail and game-planned how to do that without Victor going down too. As far as Michael was concerned, they’d have to do this all behind Victor’s back.
As for Jordan, she felt like a lucky lady when she pried a wire out of her mattress and was sure she could use it to unlock her cage. Her efforts were thwarted, though. Victor arrived just in time to stop her. Sorry, lady. Not today!
While Victor was in the basement, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) arrived home to an empty ranch. She took off to the Tack House and was greeted by Claire and Victoria. The ladies caught up and eventually, Victor arrived to hug his wife.
Friday, May 24th
Micheal went to the ranch to see Victor and Nikki, he said. he was really there to find a way to be alone in the house, which he managed to do. Once the couple were off to lunch, he and Cole (J. Eddie Peck) lurked through the secret corridor to Jordan’s dungeon.
Over at Society, Summer met up with Nick and Phyllis where she griped and groaned about Claire. She didn’t like her cousin but she was all Harrison could think about. Nick suggested she follow the boy’s lead. Eventually, Nikki and Victor turned up too and they all welcomed her home.
As for Claire, she was home with Victoria. The ladies had a few good heart-to-heart talks about Claire’s future, Cole’s distractedness, and even Victoria’s feelings towards him. Claire was pleased to hear her mommy was crushing on her daddy and encouraged her to go for it.
Claire then got a call from Kyle to accompany him and Harrison to the fair. She jumped at the opportunity and had a grand time. The good times continued when they ran into Summer who didn’t freak out. Summer even shocked Claire by offering to spend time together.
Cole and Michael made the mistake of tripping Victor’s sensor and he ran right home to the ranch. He found the men in the basement telling Jordan they were there to get her out and take her to a real jail. “I’ll be damned if I allow that to happen!” Victor bellowed.
