The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, August 22nd, 2024, tease Diane is putting her best foot forward while dealing with her miserable son.

The rift between Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Diane (Susan Walters) runs deep. There are old scars that have never healed paired with all their current problems. Diane knows she’s made one too many mistakes along the way but firing her son seems to have taken this too far. She regrets it, but can she fix it?
Kyle isn’t exactly open to his mother’s love these days. In fact, he would rather avoid both his parents altogether (which isn’t easy seeing as how he’s still living in his dad’s home). Diane is going to extend an olive branch in the hopes he’s ready to accept it. Will this be the start to the pair burying the hatchet? They could use a fresh start.
Not trying to right a wrong is Adam (Mark Grossman). He and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) did a very bad thing when they climbed into bed together. The right thing would be to tell Sally (Courtney Hope), but he’s not about to do that. Spilling the truth means risking their romance and Adam isn’t ready to take that gamble.
At the same time, Billy (Jason Thompson) look deep within himself while pondering his next move. Is this about his life with Chelsea or is this about all that drama at the office? Billy is making quite a mess of Abbott-Chancellor and things are about to get much worse before there is any hope of it getting better.
What will it take for Kyle to ease up on his mama?
