No stranger to the wonderful world of make-believe, actor, director, producer, and co-founder of Next Generation of Storytellers Jacob Young (Rick Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful; JR Chandler, All My Children et al.) is helping a whole heap of film making hopefuls realize their dreams.
Jacob Young – Making A Real Difference
This past weekend, Young was down Charleston way overseeing students from the Cooper River School of Advanced Studies and the filming of their feature flick.
“So it’s called Fire of the Heart, and our two lead characters were friends since they were kids and they secretly have a crush on each other,” he explained to WCBD news.
The purpose of Next Generation of Storytellers according to Young is to provide youth the opportunity to tap into their love of filmmaking. “The great thing about our company is it’s not just acting, we teach them how to make films from the ground up. From screenplay writing to directing, to acting, to every position on a film set.”
Said the principal of the Cooper River School of Advanced Studies: “There is always going to be math and reading but you don’t know what else your students have inside of them, so just to find different ways for them to express that.”
Per Young, Fire of the Heart will have a local screening come the summer and there are plans afoot to submit it to a film festival in September.

Winsor Harmon (ex-Thorne Forrester, B&B), Young’s former play kin, was one of the many to comment on Young’s Instagram post touting the initiative. He wrote, fittingly, “Great work brother.”
