Today’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for December 1, 2023, details Eric’s latest means to live life to the fullest while he still has a chance.
RJ Blabs Eric’s Latest ‘Grand’ Idea
An optimistic Eric (John McCook) told Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Katie (Heather Tom) he didn’t want to waste a moment because he didn’t know how many he had left, a statement that put frustrated frowns on the women’s faces. He immediately told them not to be sad even if he was dying and refusing medical treatment like a common Willow Tait on General Hospital.
Eric had a grand soiree to throw and nobody and nothing would stop him, not even a fatal mystery disease. As expected, Katie and Donna thought a party was a good idea, but Eric thought it was a grand idea since everything is grand in Eric’s life. He also still insisted that nobody else knew the truth about his condition.
Eric asked Katie to gather the rest of the family to tell them about the party, but they didn’t let on that they already knew.
That’s because RJ (Joshua Hoffman) took it upon himself to inform Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) that Eric wanted to hold a big gala as yet another grand finale. They could barely believe their ears. Why would a dying man want to take on such a project?
Carter Learns The Truth
Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) had questions when Eric had him present a new will to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) making him executor and giving him power of attorney. Ridge was apoplectic at the idea of signing the papers so Carter demanded that Ridge tell him what was really going on with the elder Forrester.
Ridge finally confessed to Carter that Eric was dying, but they had to keep their knowledge a secret from him. Carter was devastated to get the news as he thought of Eric as a surrogate father (who asked him to service his younger wife in the bedroom two years ago).
Carter wanted to go Eric immediately but Ridge talked him out of it. Brooke, RJ, Steffy, and Thomas soon walked into the design office and were surprised by the new legal papers Eric had drawn up. They also informed Ridge they had a party to attend.
Things Go South For Eric
Eric was thrilled to welcome other designing members of his clan into his office to tell them all about his grand soiree. Sure, he didn’t tell them why he needed to throw a gala right before Christmas, but they went along with the whole grand plan.
The Forresters and Logans planned to do everything they could to give Eric the send-off he wanted, even if they had to fake their way through the whole event. However, Eric finally broke down when they got home and admitted to Donna he was scared before promptly collapsing on the floor.
