It’s official: AlexAnn Hopkins (ex-Joy Wesley) is out at Days of our Lives, with the March 19th episode serving as her swan song.

In that installment, Joy informed former lover Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) that she’d chucked in her job and was skipping town for the Big Apple — while also keeping mum about the baby she was carrying!
A spokesperson for the Peacock sudser confirmed the actress’ exit to TVInsider and said in a statement: “We enjoyed having AlexAnn bring the character of Joy to life, it was a short yet important story arc, and we hope the fans enjoyed watching it unfold.”
Joy, Craig (Kevin Spirtas) and Nancy’s (Patrika Darbo) youngest, was sired in the hopes that her bone marrow would prove a match for leukemia-stricken Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin). She was, natch.
Prior to Hopkins’ October 22, 2024 debut, Joy had last been seen onscreen in September 2005 when she served as flower girl during Chloe and Brady Black’s (Kyle Lowder) wedding.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Wilson said of his costar — and play baby-mama — “She was fantastic. She is fantastic. I’m sure they’ll revisit that story sooner or later. I’m not sure when, but AlexAnn was really, really great. The amount [of material] that we did have together, I think she really showed up and always did really great work.”
