Days of our Lives will mark its milestone 15,000th episode on Monday, December 2 (2024) with considerable fanfare: over a dozen beloved actors, whose tenures span the beloved soap’s nearly six decades on air, are putting in an appearance for the celebration of Doug Williams’ life, a development made necessary by the real-life passing of actor Bill Hayes — and his widow/long-time screen partner, Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) will be one of the many tuning in for the event.
Susan Seaforth Hayes Talks Milestone Installment
In an interview with People Seaforth Hayes reflected that, “This show has been 54 years of my life. It’s gratifying to be included in the 15,000th episode. Because of DAYS, I’ve had a career, a happy marriage, and great experiences with co-workers and fans from all around the world…
“For the farewell episode, my eyes will be glued to the screen expecting a perfect tribute to Bill Hayes and to all the cast we’ve been privileged to love for 59 years. I would not miss it for the world.”
On the continuing appeal of the soap she’s called home since 1968, the actress mused that it’s “beloved for showing the truest of emotions even when the plots seem fantastical.
“That’s our history and our strength. We shoot for the moon 5 days a week and are planning to hit the target for decades more with [a] young cast and mellowed characters, too. We plan to please every generation.”
