Michael Fairman caught up with Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) and Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) at the recent Day of DAYS fan event and got quite the scoop from the opinionated dames.
Susan Seaforth Hayes And Deidre Hall Talk New Normal At DAYS
When asked for her take on the uber meta soap-within-a-soap plot, Hall relayed that: “Body & Soul is done, and I think that’s what sent Ron away. We’re done with that, and we’re back to people stories.”
Interjected Seaforth Hayes: “We had some laughs [and] some cringes with Body & Soul and now we’re back to telling the story of, perhaps, real people in real situations…I kind of like it.”
And while Hall granted that Paula Cwikly’s and Jeanne Marie Ford’s assumption of the headwriter’s chair has inevitably infused the sudser with “a female energy that we might have been lacking before,” Seaforth Hayes assured that: “It hasn’t turned into Barbieland. It doesn’t mean the show is turning pink. The show is stronger than ever.”
What’s more, Hayes is, “looking forward to every script that comes in now because every script that I have is something really good to play.” And what more could fans ask?
