Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for October 24, 2023, finds Ava accepting a dangerous job offer, Harris starting his new gig as a cop, and Leo and Dimitri hatching a sinister plan.
Ava Lands A Criminal Job
Days of Our Lives – Ava and Gil
Ava (Tamara Braun) turned down a chef job and resigned herself to work for Clyde (James Read) in an effort to save Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) life. She tried to put on a happy face when Harris called but he knew she sounded a bit off. After they hung up, Ava found a visitor at the door. It seemed Clyde sent a friend over to keep Ava in line.
He warned her that Clyde would have no issue with ordering a hit on Tripp if Ava didn’t cooperate and run his “pharmaceutical” company. Ava tried to argue that she wasn’t the right person for the job but paid goon Gil (David S. Lee) told her she had no options.
When Tripp emerged from the bedroom for the day, Gil introduced himself as the new owner of the town bistro and offered Ava a job as manager. Ava accepted knowing full well it was a cover but Tripp thought his mom just landed a legit gig and was thrilled. Tripp later gave Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) the news, but she wasn’t sure Ava could stay on the right side of the law.
When Ava had a few moments alone with Gil in Horton Square, she turned on the charm and tried to negotiate with him. Maybe he could use her cousin Angelo to run a drug-front restaurant and Clyde would be none the wiser. Unfortunately for Ava, Gil told her he didn’t like her plan just as Harris and Jada (Elia Cantu) arrived and wondered what was going on.
Harris Lands A Cop Job

Kate (Lauren Koslow) was surprised to hear that Harris (Steve Burton) actually listened to her and found a job with the Salem PD. The two friends reminisced about the horrors of Megan DiMera (Miranda Wilson) but Harris assured Kate that Megan no longer controlled him and with Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) help, he would continue his recovery while being a cop.
However, Kate was worried that Harris’s relationship with Ava might give Rafe (Galen Gering) pause. She reminded him that Rafe and Ava were involved and she tried to set him up to look like a dirty cop. Harris excused her actions and insisted she had changed but Kate wasn’t buying it.
Harris assured Kate that he and Ava were just friends. He helped her because she had nobody else in the world on her side. Kate proved him right by announcing that she didn’t deserve his help after all the horrible things she had done.
In the end, Harris started his first day at work with Rafe’s support. Jada had a new partner she wasn’t happy about but she was determined to make the best of it. Their first assignment was tracking down Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Dimitri (Peter Porte).
Leo And Dimitri Hatch A Plan
Days of Our Lives – Leo and Dimitri
Leo and Dimitri remained holed up in a seedy motel room where Leo had a dream that Rafe and Jada found them and hauled them away to Statesville. Dimitri promised Leo it was only a bad dream but Leo thought they needed to get out of Salem altogether before they were caught.
Rafe continued his manhunt by questioning Kayla. She felt foolish for allowing Dimitri to fool her, but Rafe assured her that it wouldn’t be long before Leo and Dimitri were apprehended. Dimitri wanted to get out of the country fast and thought they could go to Megan for help.
Sadly, they didn’t have enough money to pull off their plan so they decided they’d dress as ghosts and rob the Salem Inn.
