Let’s settle in with a cup of tea and discuss what’s been happening in Salem. As always, Days of Our Lives is keeping us on the edge of our seats!
This week, our younger set is off to college, and the older generation…well, they’re certainly keeping busy, too.
Campus Chaos and Dorm Room Drama
The youngsters are hitting the dorms, and with them comes all the familiar collegiate excitement. It seems Aaron is teasing Cat about a certain affection for Chad, while Holly learns Maggie is considering a new chapter in her own life. Our little snoop, Ari, almost gets caught listening in on Philip and Xander – thank goodness for that handy pen recording device, eh? And then there’s Tate, who informs Brady that Sophia is willingly giving up the adoption papers. Oh, the tangled webs these Salemites weave!
We find Holly and Ari, roomies, already making plans to explore campus. Maggie uses the opportunity to invite Gabi to JJ’s birthday celebration. Gabi, ever polite, declines, citing her estrangement from JJ. And let’s not forget, the presence of Julie would make things complicated. Ah, loyal viewers will recall the tension between those two! After a tearful goodbye, Gabi and Maggie leave the girls to their dorm life.
Meanwhile, Cat and Brady are helping Aaron and Tate move in. After they leave, Brady questions Cat taking a job with EJ, who is not exactly the most savory character. After hearing of Cat’s job loss after Marlena’s leave of absence, Brady offers his help, as a board member, should EJ cause any problems. The boys have keggers on their minds, but first, Tate’s gotta check on Holly.
On Ari’s suggestion, Holly enrolls in the same film class as Tate and that other girl, Sophia. Tate arrives, prompting Ari to head to the bookstore to leave the lovebirds alone together.
Aaron notices Ari, invites her into his room to play a video game, since her room is occupied.
Anger Flares and Confessions Unveiled
Gabi encounters Philip in the town square, where they reflect on their recent rendezvous. Gabi jokes about HR finding out, but Philip counters that it won’t matter if he quits because he can’t take Xander. Gabi urges him not to do anything rash.
Over at the townhouse, Marlena is immersed in a new book when Xander arrives for his session. He talks about being seen as a hero by Victoria, but then says he knows he is nothing but a thug. Marlena reminds him that Victor is gone, so he can be whoever he wants to be.
Xander doesn’t think that is possible. He tells Marlena how much Philip and Sarah’s actions upset him. Breaking the ice, Xander confesses about the forged letter and how Sarah knew about it, but kept it a secret from him.
Secrets and Whispers
Returning home, Cat finds a bouquet of flowers with a note from a suitor. Could this be a sign of a new romance on the horizon? Meanwhile, Brady finds Marlena in a somber mood, confessing that the weight of other people’s secrets is sometimes too heavy to bear. Such is the burden of a good therapist, eh?
And then there’s Gabi. Back in her kitchen, Gabi listens in as Xander, in a fit of anger, reveals to Philip that they discussed Philip’s forged letter in a session with Marlena. The deviousness in Gabi’s smile tells us she’ll use that information…
Looking Ahead
In tomorrow’s episode, we’ll see Philip testing Xander’s loyalty, and Chanel revisiting the idea of adoption. The drama continues, and we will be here to cover it!
Until next time, dear readers, keep your friends close and your remotes closer!
