The gut wrenching news of Drake Hogestyn’s passing hit all Days of our Lives fans right in the heart this past weekend. And, now, the show has confirmed that John Black has already left the canvas.
Drake Hogestyn Is Gone Too Soon
The show runners confirmed to Soap She Knows that Drake Hogestyn’s last scenes as the iconic John Black already hit the airwaves. His final bow took place on September 9th when Brady (Eric Martsolf) was released from jail.
While those bittersweet family moments were wonderful to watch, viewers had no idea that was the end. Nor, did we know the last time we’d see John and Marlena together was September 5th. Even more heartbreaking is Marlena’s final words to her soulmate were “We’re going to get through this together.”

None of us were prepared for this sudden farewell but we couldn’t think of a better send off than John being with his family and hugging his beloved son as his curtain call.
