In most joyous casting news, John J. York, looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and, above all, healthy, is back on the General Hospital set.
John J. York’s Come Back
The announcement, which came in the form of a few snaps featuring the beloved actor flanked by costars Kristina Wagner (Felicia Scorpio) and Josh Kelly (Cody Bell), was posted to the ABC sudser’s official Instagram account.

The post was immediately flooded with comments from overjoyed fans and York’s fellow thespians. Sharon Magnan wrote, “Welcome home Mac. John, you’ve been missed more than we can say,” while Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) penned a most enthusiastic, “Yeasssssss!!!”
York’s return comes some six months after the actor announced he’d been diagnosed with “myelodysplastic syndrome, or MDS, and multiple smoldering myeloma — two blood and bone marrow disorders.” Following a bone marrow donation, he began chemotherapy treatments.
