The soapsphere is abuzz with whispers that General Hospital plans to return Michael Corinthos to the canvas — played by somebody other than fan favorite Chad Duell!
Is General Hospital Recasting Michael Corinthos?
Young and the Restless grad Robert Adamson, who thrice pinched hit for Duell when scheduling conflicts arose, recently contributed to the rumor mill when he fired off the following since-deleted post:
Duell, who recently snagged the co-lead in Bruce Reisman’s new New York-bound two-hander Yum Yum At Annapolis, stunned GH fans last November when he took to Instagram and made his intention to leave the soap very clear.
He wrote: “This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life. I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey.
“To all the fans: thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support and for letting Michael Corinthos be a part of your lives. Your love and encouragement has meant the world to me 🙂 This isn’t a goodbye—it’s a see you later. Much love, Chad”
Soon after, Frank Valentini (GH EP) posted on X:
So, perhaps now is the time to recast the role. After all, it’s been some three months since a grievously injured Michael was shipped off to a burn clinic in Germany, and it fell to Mama Bear Carly (Laura Wright) to fight for his rights where offspring Wiley and Amelia were concerned.
