We never thought we’d see the day: General Hospital‘s Kristina Corinthos (Kate Mansi) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) united in a cause. But there the two were, practically salivating at the thought of Ava Jerome (Maura West) being held accountable for her crimes. #JusticeOnceAndForAll and all that jazz.
And while we can agree that Ms. Jerome certainly does have a penchant for getting “away with everything,” and we no doubt appreciate the juicy potential of seeing the villainess’ luck finally running out, it was the girls declaring that this one was for Baby Adela and Morgan, the brother they had in common.
Ava Jerome Is A Bad, Bad Girl — But She Didn’t Kill Morgan Or Adela
A brief perusal of Ava’s rap sheet outs her as an out-and-out murderess (RIP Connie Falconeri), an attempted murderess (in one instance alone she took aim at Franco but wound up nailing Olivia), and the head of an online gambling ring, and then there’s the time she goaded Sonny (Maurice Benard) into shooting poor, put-upon and wholly innocent AJ for a crime that she committed.
What we’re trying to say is that she’s a no-good, very bad lady. However, this no-good, very bad lady is very much not responsible for either Baby Adela’s nor Morgan’s death. The former was a tragic accident, the latter an unintended consequence of actions that she did undertake (namely, swapping Morgan’s bipolar meds for sugar pills). They’re both kind of like that oopsie she had out on Old Decatur Road that left Jason (Steve Burton) a mite bit squished and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) holding the bag.
Whether Kristina or Josslyn (or perennial Ava haters Sonny and Carly) want to admit it or not, Morgan died because he stole Julian Jerome’s car, which had been rigged to explode by his power-mad (emphasis on the “mad”) sister Olivia (not to be confused with Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine that Ava put a bullet in). That’s the truth of it.
It’s also true that a rewatch of the scene featuring Kristina and Ava’s scuffle shows definitively that Ava did not purposefully shove her and that Krissy got tangled up in John “Don’t Call Me Jagger” Cates’ luggage. (If only Ric had access to old episodes of General Hospital!).
We reiterate that we’d happily watch Ava go down for a crime that she actually committed (and Lord knows Maura To The West would play the Hell out of those prison scenes; our bet is that she’s Top Dog within a week), but can we PLEASE stop blaming the woman for accidents…that she just so happened to be caught up in?
