Poor Lucas Jones is suffering deeply in the aftermath of his sister’s death on General Hospital. He was the surgeon who was in the operating room, after all. It was heartbreaking to watch him blame himself, but even more so to watch Danny blame him, too.
Is This All Lucas Jones’ Fault?
As far as we know, Sam (Kelly Monaco) came out of the OR with flying colors only to succumb to a heart attack shortly after. It stands to warrant some suspicion that her weakening heart was a result of being under the knife. But, is that really her brother’s fault.
Sam went through all the proper testing and was deemed in good health. She was cleared for the surgery and even begged her brother to be the one holding the knife. She trusted Lucas (Van Hansis) and his capable hands. Was that a mistake? Did Lucas botch the procedure and accidentally take his sister out?
The General Hospital Blame Game
Lucas has beat himself up since that fateful day and he’s beside himself. His world collapsed when Sam took her last breath and he’s not sure how to cope. The only thing he knew to do was show up at the funeral to pay his respects. Sadly, that only served for him to get screamed at by a grieving Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) who pointedly put all the blame on his shoulders.
Is Danny right? Is Lucas the reason Sam is gone? That’s a question for the medical examiner but one thing is for sure…if they come to realize Lucas messed up he’ll never forgive himself…and Danny will hold it against him for the rest of his life.
