They say that man makes plans and G-d laughs, and there was General Hospital‘s manly-man Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) trying to interest Josslyn (Eden McCoy) in a tropical Christmas getaway — this following two scenes in which Dr. Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) mused that the man must have been “born under a lucky star” as he was just fine following his stabbing.
Turns out the knife hit a rib, which diverted it away from the kidneys and other major organs. In the good doc’s opinion, Dex will make a full recovery within a few weeks. Oh, and there’s no risk of infection or internal bleeding at all.
So, everything’s pretty hunky dory…except that whoever shanked Officer Heller is still out and about…and let’s not forget that everybody thought Sam was in the clear before Cyrus (Jeff Kober) sent her own to her Glory.

And seeing as how we’re 99.4% sure that Sam’s killer and Dex’s stabber are one and the same, Cyrus is no doubt itching to finish what he started in that blind alley.
The baddie knows that Dex knows he was in the hospital the day that Sam died, and even that he was on the same floor as Sam. And he knows this because Dex was dumb enough to tell him, and dumb enough not to put two and two together and come up with ‘Cyrus is a murderer!’
So, it only stands to reason that Dex has gotta go; luck can only take him so far. We wonder if Cyrus still has that vial of digitalis lying around….
