Alexa Havins first became a household name back in 2003 when she was cast as Babe Carey on All My Children. Since leaving the show in 2007, she was sure she was done with acting. Thankfully, for General Hospital, that wasn’t the case and she’ll be filling some huge shoes as Lulu.
Alexa Havins Is Ready To Take On Lulu
In an interview with TV Line, Havins discussed how her casting came about. “When they started talking, they were very elusive about what the role was, and then they let me know it was Lulu and that’s where it really caught my attention because it’s such an interesting character,” she told the publication.
Havins is well aware she’s taking over for a fan-favorite actress Emme Rylan and she promises fans she’s going to put her own spin on the Port Charles player. “In no way, shape or form do I want to mimic the other two ladies. I’m not trying to be them in any way,” Havins assures.
“Julie’s Julie and Emme’s Emme. Obviously, it’s going to be a more mature version of her and I’m me and I can’t be them. Lulu is a spitfire. She loves her mother, but she’s her father’s daughter. She takes huge chances.”
New Lulu Debuts!
Havins is ready for the challenge of bringing Lulu back to the land of the living. Today Lulu opens her eyes and starts coming around. This is a huge moment for the cast, fans, and Havins herself. “I just want to make sure that I’m bringing the essence of who she is.”
What do yo want for Lulu’s future? Should she and Dante fall back in love? Should she start fresh? Sound off in the comments!
