Kelly Monaco first debuted in General Hospital on October 1, 2003. Like Holly Sutton before here, Monaco’s Sam McCall began life as a manipulative but afable flim-flam woman who soon found love and a comfortable place in the wider canvas of characters.

Sam’s coupling with Jason (Steve Burton) quickly became a fan favorite — netting them the squish name ‘Jasam’ — though Monaco sizzled opposite an embarrassment of male talent, including Michael Easton’s John McBain and Billy Miller’s Drew Cain.
And while the quartet was probably known more for their squabbling rather than quieter, more copasetic détentes, the Davis clan — made up of mama bear Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Sam, and siblings Kristina and Molly — was a family that viewers took to in droves.
Whether adventuring with Stone Cold and the Jackal, putting her innate detective skills to the test, falling back on her well-honed conning skills, or finding (through trial and error) how to parent her brood, Sam’s life was nothing if not eventful — as this humble sampling of snaps will attest.
