Daytime Emmy Award nominee Doug Sheehan, best known for roles on ABC’s General Hospital and CBS’ Knots Landing, has passed away. He was 75.

Per the Wyoming-based Kane Funeral Home, the actor “passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday morning, June 29, 2024, with his loving wife at his side.” A cause of death was not disclosed.
With guest appearances in Charlie’s Angels and Kaz under his belt, Sheehan burst onto the daytime scene as unlucky-in-love do-gooder Joe Kelly (of the Kelly’s Diner Kellys) who romanced Heather Webber. His three-year stint at GH ended in 1982, and he subsequently joined the cast of Knots Landing where he toiled for four seasons as Ben Gibson, the perennial runner-up for Val Ewing’s affections.
In the 1990s, Sheehan play parented Clueless‘ Cher Horowitz (after succeeding Michael Lerner in the role) and titular Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and he co-headlined the sitcom Day by Day alongside Linda Kelsey.
His other credits MacGyver, Columbo, Promised Land, Style & Substance, Diagnosis: Murder, and What I Like About You.
