James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine, General Hospital) has adopted quite the laissez-faire attitude where his alter-ego’s recent remanding to Steinmauer is concerned.
General Hospital News: James Patrick Stuart Talks Recent Exit
“I had a good old time,” he shared with Soap Opera Digest. “It was three weeks in L.A., which is no longer my hometown. I ended up crashing at Michael Knight’s [Martin Gray] house and got to see the old gang again. I’m not on contract, so [Valentin going to jail] was no skin off my teeth.
“[It] did actually give Jocelyn and me a chance to remodel our house, move in and settle into the Pacific Northwestern vibe, and this was a cool way to come back. And, of course, Valentin had to pay the ferryman. But who knows? Who knows what’ll happen in the future.”
And in the even that The Powers That Be do come a calling, Stuart would be “happy to be there. I think whatever happens next, it’s a clean slate. I sure hope that I get to work with Finola [Hughes, Anna Devan] again, because I just think that when you put the two of us in a room, she and I really enjoy each other.”
