Los Angeles’ Superior Court Judge Tony Richardson has postponed the trial on a lawsuit filed by two former General Hospital employees who were fired for their refusal to follow ABC’s blanket COVID-19 vaccination mandates due to their religious beliefs.
General Hospital News: Trial Date Postponed
Per Deadline, who was the first to report, the delaying of the proceedings from May 13 to June 9 comes after an attorney for the network said that both sides intend to try and resolve the case next month with the help of retired Judge Mitchell Beckloff, who presided over the case previously.
As laid out by The Hollywood Reporter (who was the first to report on the lawsuit), Beckloff had found that James and Timothy Wahl, the terminated father-and-son duo who both worked in the sudser’s special effects department, may have indeed had “sincerely held” religious beliefs that ABC should have accommodated by affording them exemptions and allowing them to follow safety protocols implemented before mandatory vaccination policies were rolled out.
The outlet added: “The court also found that ABC could have afforded the Wahls accommodations without undue financial or logistical hardship.”

* It’s been roughly three months since Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain; ex-Ryan Lavery, All My Children) lost “everything” to the devastating wildfires that engulfed much of Southern California. Now that the actor is issuing a heartfelt update.
On April 9, the actor took to Instagram with a video he captioned: “We are three months post-fire and I’m grateful for all my friends and family who have graciously helped sort through the burn site finding a few small pieces that are very special to me. Even more so now.
“Also I wanted to give an extra special thank you to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), who replaced my Emmys, as well as other amazing people who had lost their Emmys due to the fires.
“Being able to recover priceless items like these brings a small ray of hope shining into my life.”
In the accompanying video, Mathison included footage of a team foraging through the rubble of his home and shots of the items they managed to recover including “some Tibetan Buddhist statues, some pottery that the kids have made, some tiles. Lucas found a lot of his drum set. We found the grand piano that Leila played.”
Chief among the discoveries was a tile sign emblazoned with the name the family had bestowed upon the abode. Explained Mathison: We called it Casa Lula — Lucas and Leila, our kids’ names…And although it’s broken and cracked, we’re going to put that back together, and it’ll be a little memento for us.”

Heit wrote, directed, and co-produced the piece; McCoy also serves as a co-producer alongside Tyler Transki.
