Though she was never going to win any awards, Maura West’s mellowed alter-ego is suddenly back to her mercurially majestic self — a fact not lost on General Hospital viewers or on the actress herself.
Maura West Teases Ava’s Future
“I sensed the reset,” West tittered to Michael Fairman at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. “It was sudden…It wasn’t lost on me.” Luckily, she doesn’t seem too bothered.
“One of the things I like about [Ava[ and that I’ve always liked about her is that one of her major character defects is that she’s reactive. She doesn’t take a pause and think like we teach our children. She reacts! Out of anger, passion, whatever it is… she’s very quick to react. And that’s what she’s doing.”
But fans are concerned, terribly so. In fact, speculation is rife in the Soapverse that the ABC sudser might be hurtling towards a “Who Dun Ava In?” storyline.
Apprised of the fact, West could but stifle a Cheshire Grin and demure, “They’ll have to watch and see what happens. That’s all I can tell you.”
