Leonel Gutierrez, one of four suspects charged in connection with the callous murder of General Hospital alum Johnny Wactor has pled guilty to attempted robbery and grand theft charges.
Progress In Johnny Wactor’s Case
Per TMZ, the youth (18 years old at the time of his arrest) is free on bond while he awaits sentencing in November. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
Wactor, 37, was gunned down in downtown Los Angeles in the early hours of Saturday, May 25. Anita Joy, Wactor’s coworker and a friend of over a decade, recounted how he’d escorted her to a nearby parking lot where they chanced upon three men interfering with the actor’s vehicle.
Per her harrowing recollection, Wactor approached the men and “simply stated that it was his car and for them to leave. Hands open to his sides in peace. Johnny was between me and the man who shot him.”
Robert Barceleau, who police have identified as the triggerman, and Sergio Estrada, both 18 years of age, are facing murder charges.
Meanwhile, Frank Olano, 22, faces charges of accessory after the fact to murder, receiving stolen property, and three counts of being a felon with a firearm.
All three men have entered pleas of not guilty. They are set to appear in court in October.
