At the top of the half-hour interview, Kristen Vaganos and cohost Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli, General Hospital) learned that they both attended NYU, and the latter hilariously learned he’d gotten Vaganos all wrong — she’s most decidedly not married to that gentleman whom frequently appears on her social media.

Kristen Vagnos went on to share with Anderson and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan, GH) that she landed the part of Molly during the midst of the protracted back-to-back writer/actor strikes.

Said the actress: “I didn’t know the context of this role at that point…I did my audition via the self-tape and then I came in here and read with Nancy…and then I got it, and it wasn’t until I got it that I was told that this was an existing character…and I wasn’t allowed to say anything for a month.”

On what it was like auditioning opposite Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis): “Like, so awesome! I love Nancy…she was great…I really do feel like we had kind of a good vibe right away. We have a good thing.”

On working with Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos): We connected so quickly…We call each other Sis Kris and Sis Kate. We’re like sisters in real life. It’s like something happened with us where we just immediately connected and we have a lot of people in common. I knew her boyfriend before she ever met him…I think the fact that we were both recasts and we were both the new vision..for what the Davis girls are going to be…we work together.”

On her interactions with the audience: “It’s been fun. I don’t read a ton..what I do see has been really sweet. I’ve done one fan event since being on and people were so kind to me…it really is a lot to ask for people to accept a new face in a [character] that they’ve come to love or know…One person said to me [in response to my claim that ‘It’s big shoes to fill’] ‘Girl, you’re wearing your own shoes and they look good on you.”
