This week’s episode of The Daily Drama podcast — brought to you by DailyDrama.com — was a true, hilarious hodgepodge that could only be thrown together by your masters of ceremonies, Steve Burton (Jason Morgan, General Hospital) and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli, GH).

Has the…um…let’s call it eccentric layout…of the PCPD ever bothered you? Well, it bothers the dynamic duo, Burton in particular, hence their in-depth dissection. Some valid points are raised.

Of course, what prompts the architectural meandering is Burton’s reminiscence of his and Ava’s (Maura West) holding-cell showdown, complicated by the fact that it took place in, well, the holding cells.

“It was supposed to be I show up like the Grim Reaper to threaten Ava. She knows what’s happening… I don’t read the bold print [i.e. stage direction and/or indication of locale] as an actor,” he confesses. “A lot of actors don’t. A lot of acting teachers tell you not to…Maura and I were like, ‘Maaaaan.’ And I get the scene had to be in jail because she was in jail. But, to me, it wasn’t super menacing…I didn’t know what to do…we really had the obstacle of the jail.”

To the fans out there ruing the crucifixion of Ava and fearing for West’s possible (probable? inevitable?) dismissal from the soap, Anderson offered: “I would say, ‘You never know,’ but at the same time I wouldn’t say [well,] I wouldn’t bet on it.” Chimed in Burton: “There’s good stuff to come,” and, later, a cheeky, “Stay tuned!”

And as for the fans itching to see Jason and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) relationship mended, Burton proffered: “I think we’re on the mend…It’s kind of on the mend, for sure.”
