This week’s episode of The Daily Drama Podcast — brought to you by DailyDrama.com — featured General Hospital’s Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) diving into very recent goings on.
Jack Of All Trades
If you found the sight of Spinelli DJing Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) bachelorette party/wedding shower a bit surprising, imagine how Anderson felt — not to mention the shock of finding out that his alter-ego has been spinning discs (well, make that syncing up a playlist) for some time, and at bar mitzvahs no less. (Cute joke alert: Bruce “No Longer A Boy” Cooperman was named after a General Hospital….a middle-aged cameraman, but that’s neither here nor there.)
The Good Old Days
Speaking of that raucous, full house shindig (and Chase’s [Josh Swickard] bachelor party, which the hosts also address), if it gave you flashbacks to the days of old when group scenes were the rule then the exception, there’s a reason for that.
According to Burton, “A lot of the changes that you’re seeing are indicative of the past in the sense that, now, scenes are two to four pages. It’s not just a one-pager. Sometimes I have a six-page scene; like the old days. [New head writers Elizabeth Forte and Patrick Mulcahey] are really starting to tell a story.”
Jason’s Mini-me
While Burton grants that “Sam’s not a fan” of Jason and has every right to be, he can’t help but thank TPTB for scripting Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) as looking up to his pops — especially in light of Jason’s estrangement from his other offspring, Jake.
Burton went on to muse that Jason and his youngest share “things in common” that will be “more expressed coming up, that [Danny’s] a little bit of a ‘danger guy’ [and he] likes to push the limits a bit like Jason did.”
Q&A Portion
As is typical during these one-on-one sessions, Anderson and Burton took some questions supplied by Daily Drama readers, including a few about Jason and Carly’s (Laura Wright)…relationship?…romantic entanglement?…familial….something? Let’s just say that Burton has opinions. STRONG opinions on the subject.
