This week, The Daily Drama Podcast — brought to you by DailyDrama.com — saw hosts Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) welcome special guest Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones, General Hospital) back to the show. The trio was reunited and it felt oh-so-good!

Nostalgia

Their shared enmity for “New Math” expressed and granted, the gang got down to the business of figuring out some anniversaries. September 25, 2009, will mark 15 years since “Spixie’s” non-wedding, and January heralded 25 years since Storms debuted her much loved “Zenon” character. (Turns out, the actress’ daughter isn’t much impressed by mommy’s effort.)

It’s also been some time since the threesome of Jason, Spinelli, and Maxie were front and center and embroiled in adventurous dos, and “Spixie” was one of GH’s primo couples.

Mused Storms: “I think you could tell when were shooting those episodes all together that we were doing something really special. And now, 14…15 years later, I look back at it as my favorite storyline I’ve ever done on GH.

“Just because, like, you think of soaps and you envision these fantasy romantic scenes and when we got the scripts and saw what we could with the material and how funny we could make it…it was different.”

Good Things Ahead

But different is as different does, and as of the present, Storms is “getting excited to sew what [the new headwriters are] going to have us do next. When I get the script, I scroll through to see what characters are in my scenes.”

“And when was the last time we did that,” boomed Burton who has long been singing the praises of recently installed story honchos Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahey.

Oh, and if anybody out there is wondering, yes, the soap will be getting around to featuring a Stone Cold and Jackal reunion — and Maxie will be in scenes opposite Jason to boot.

Helping Hands

If Storms has her way, Burton will soon have some new curtains hanging in his dressing room, and that much-contested desk lamp of his will be “low-key” replaced.
