This week’s episode of The Daily Drama Podcast — brought to you by DailyDrama.com, your one-stop shop for all your soap needs and decidedly NOT a real estate office, thank you very much Mr. Anderson! — featured no special guest. Instead, the amiable cohosts broke down the previous two weeks of General Hospital with a focus squarely on Steve Burton’s Jason Morgan.
A Fortnight Ago
Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson — Jason Morgan and Damian Spinelli, respectively, as if you didn’t already know — began their discussion with the episode first broadcast on March 25.
As you may or may not recall, Jason was in the PCPD interrogation room being grilled by John “Jagger’ Jingleheimer Schmidt over his severing contact. Then came face-to-faces with Sonny (Maurice Benard) — who wasn’t in the least bit thankful that Jason has saved his life — and Sam (Kelly Monaco).
The reason for Jason’s decampment to the side of law & order was broached, namely to prevent Carly (Laura Wright) from facing RICCO violations. Debate ensued as to whether or not the blonde would be thankful of Jason’s sacrifice. To quote Anderson, “Meh, it’s Carly. Maybe not.”
Overwhelming Feeling
Burton also paid due lip service to a scene that was “very hard” for him to film — and the one he names may surprise you.
Week Two And Hair Apparent
After wondering amongst themselves who exactly the reigning D.A. is — it’s Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), BTW — and bigging up Michaels’ (Chad Duell) paying Jason’s enormous bail, Burton and Anderson turned to the week of April 1.
Much talk was given over to a particular scourge of society — the “ice cream scoop hairstyle” — sported by one of Jason’s sires; ditto Jason’s rebooted mission.
Father’s Daze
If the rumblings that he’s heard are to be believed, than Burton might soon have another onscreen son to ignore. After all, as Bradford is quick to point out, Dex (Evan Hofer) does resemble does resemble him and smidge, and he certainly has his stoic demeanor down pat.
At the very least, it was nice to hear Burton admit (in an earlier portion of the back-and-forth) that Jason’s a “deadbeat dad.”
Q&A
The podcast wrap with Burton teasing that he’s been “working with some new people” and declaring that fans “should stay tuned for that” plus a short Q&A.
The latest installment of the Daily Drama Podcast is a rollicking good time. But don’t just take out word for it. Check it out in full then take to the comments section and share your thoughts.
