Burton offered: “I think because I’ve changed so much as a human being that it’s translated into my work now as Jason…life imitating art to some degree where there was struggle and adversity for both and then coming back. So there’s definitely, I think, more depth to Jason…I think it’s just because of life experience at this point…

“You know, we get to the point where we get to play the same character for so long it’s hard for your outside life to affect your daily work.

He added: “I think there was an evolution. There was ‘Anger Boy.’ Everything was anger…I think that’s changed. I think Jason’s way more stoic now than angry…I don’t feel he’s as angry…there’s just more layers now.”

Burton also teased that General Hospital fans are due some “incredible scenes” featuring himself and Laura Wright, AKA Jason’s ride-or-die honey Carly Spencer. They’re “classic” ‘Jarly,’ “but with more depth, and they’re “coming soon.
