The actress was put on the spot where her alter-ego’s employment was concerned — from Face of Deception to maker of grilled cheeses for the Quartermaines — and Sasha’s downward (and downward, and downward) trajectory was examined in great detail; there’s a reason even Mattsson calls her “The Queen of Disasters.”

Though Mattsson granted that, ““I know that you can’t be happy on a soap and as soon as you’re happy that gotta ruin it,” she also couldn’t help but add: “But they’ve REALLY gone far with me.”

Of course, the trio also dived into Sasha’s recent maternity shocker — which came as quite gut-punch to Mattsson, who learned of the Holly Sutton-sized twist “A month before we filmed it…it all happened very, very fast.” — and the “good drama” that resulted, including the blow-up of Sasha’s slow-burn romance with now cousin Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).

How surprised was Mattsson by the reveal? “SO surprised! That happened so quickly. I remember the day…I was having some fun, flirty scenes with Cody and then I talked to Frank and he was like ‘Oh, yea, you’re going to get pregnant.’ And I just assumed ‘Oh, with Cody’s baby,’ [and then he says] ‘With Michael.’ And I’m like, ‘WHAT?!’ … And we were filming a scene where [Cody and Sasha] were about to get romantically together in his bedroom, and that was the day we found out, and it all just impacted us both to know…”
