In May we brought you the news that Chrishell Stause had been tapped to appear in Aussie soap Neighbours, and now comes a tantalizing tease straight from the actress-cum-realator/reality show star-cum-memoirist.
Chrishell Stause Dishes On New Role
As previously reported, Stause will portray Yasmine “Yas” Shields, “a glamorous and successful businesswoman in pursuit of an exciting new opportunity,” — and during a chat with the hosts of The Project, more light was shed on the character and her motives.
Relayed Stause: “She’s a very glamorous, intelligent lighting director who is bringing a very exciting lighting show to Erinsborough. It may not come as a surprise – she obviously has a secret motive. I can’t let you know what that is, but it is very juicy. And, of course, she may accidentally get distracted with a little bit of love along the way.”
As for how the opportunity came about, Stause shared: “They approached me – I think the writers kind of cooked up this idea and pitched it to me, and I of course brought it to G [Flip, her lawfully wedded wife], who knew the show immediately, grew up with it.
“And the character was so amazing, that I was like I know they’re going to be in Melbourne the whole month of July. So we basically got together and figured out the scheduling to make it happen. So it was kind of a team effort, and here I am.”

In a statement released at the time of her hiring, the American beauty enthused that she was “honored and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show,” and added: “Coming from the world of soaps in the U.S., it’s back to my first love in the entertainment industry. They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street here I come!”
