Having been dispersed by the unrelenting California Wildfires and thrown for the proverbial loop, Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain, General Hospital) has provided curious and caring fans with a “quick life update.”

In the caption of a video he uploaded to Instagram, Mathison wrote in part: “Thank you to everyone who has supported me during this challenging time, I appreciate all of you deeply and will never forget how you all helped me start to piece my new life together.”

In the video proper, he revealed that he and his family have relocated to a multi-level rental place in Silver Lake, California, with a cold plunge on the roof and a sofa “donated from my beautiful friend Eva LaRue [Natalia Ramirez].” Mathison also took time to shout out to friends who put him up in the days following his and his family’s tragic loss and gave what they could. “[I’ve been shown] so much kindness and generosity and I just wanted to say thanks to everybody.”

* Our neighbors in the (Great) North will be able to watch CBS‘ Beyond The Gates simulcast on CHCH, an independent Canadian television network out of Hamilton, Ontario, at 2PM EST.
Per The TV Watercooler, CHCH only holds broadcast television rights to the series in Canada, and there is currently no word on a streaming service picking up the soap. The outlets also notes that Canadians who lack access to the network will still be able to watch Beyond the Gates live and DVR the series on CBS across the country where the channel is available locally.
CHCH has previously aired The Young and the Restless, Sunset Beach, and As the World Turns.

* Longtime EastEnders devotees were no doubt gobsmacked by original cast member Anita Dobson’s surprise return as an angelic Angie, come to comfort her traumatized and concussed daughter, Sharon (Letitia Dean).
Speaking about her cameo to Digital Spy, Dobson said: “I have to say a huge thank you to everyone on the EastEnders team for making me feel so welcome. It was joyful. When I first put the costume on, it was like ‘Wow.’ It was very wonderful and weird at the same time…
“When they initially asked if I would come back when I was filming for the documentary [celebrating the soap’s 40th anniversary], I wasn’t really thinking of the whole picture at first, and then when they said Letitia had said that she’d like me to do it with her, I thought, ‘Oh my god, I can’t say no to seeing my baby again.’
“It was very emotional. Incredibly emotional in a lovely, happy way. Working together again was seamless. We didn’t really think about it, or talk about it, or even rehearse it that much because we just did it. It was lovely. She’s a gorgeous human being and a lovely little actress.”
* Might he be trading the cobbles for a return to the Dales? Coronation Street‘s Daniel Brocklebank [Billy Mayhew] recently uploaded a tantalizing photo of himself standing outside ITV’s Emmerdale studio with the teasing caption: “Oooooh what’s going on here then?”
