It turns out that General Hospital‘s Jason (Steve Burton) and Brennan (Chris McKenna) go way back – well, their portrayers do, anyway.

McKenna celebrated #FlashbackFriday by dropping a pic of him and Burton at a Young and the Restless Fan Club event many a moon ago, reminding many about their respective stints as corrupt Detective Mark Harding and secret Nikki Newman/Paul Williams sire Dylan McAvoy.

He cheekily captioned the upload: “Jason and Brennan in another life.”
Long-time ABC soap fans may also recall that the gents began their daytime TV careers ’round about the same time. McKenna snagged the role of Joey Buchanan in One Life To Live in September 1990, while Burton joined the cast of GH in December 1991.

* Jamey Giddens, the soap journo/podcaster/co-owner of Daytime Confidential turned TV show maker/soap scribe, is trading Salem, USA, for Fairmont Crest! Giddens wrote on his socials: “A little bit of career news….After almost five amazing years…I’ve relocated to a new neighborhood”
Per Soap Opera Network, Giddens is boarding the Beyond The Gates team as a breakdown writer, one of the positions he held at Days of our Lives. (For the record, he also served as a scriptwriter and associate headwriter.)
Due to DAYS’ accelerated filming schedule, episodes broken down by Giddeons will air well into 2026.

Giddens’ new gig reunites him with Michele Val Jean and Susan Dansby, who were part of the writing team at his OWN serial Ambitions, and Ron Carlivati, who brought Giddens aboard DAYS.
* The Sun is reporting that former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas (ex-Jason Grimshaw) has been tapped for a special appearance as part of his on-screen mum’s exit storyline. According to the outlet, he’ll begin filming later this month. Thomas was last on the cobbles in 2016.
The Sun also announced that Rachael Gill-Davis is posed to “amicably” depart Emmerdale in the coming months with her final episode scheduled for transmission later in the year. Gill-Davis first debuted as Gail Loman six years ago, though the stint proved short-lived. She returned in 2023, now a part of the contracted cast.
