Six months after South African-born beauty Esta TerBlanche’s (ex-Gillian Andrassy, All My Children; ex-Beatrice “Biennia” Maude Hartman, Egoli: Place of Gold) tragic passing comes word that her cause and manner of death has been determined.
Daily Drama News: Esta TerBlanche’s Cause Of Death
Per TMZ, TerBlanche suffered an intracranial hemorrhage (AKA a brain bleed), which the Los Angeles County’s medical examiner’s office believes was sustained via a ground-level fall in her home. Her death has officially been ruled an accident.
At the time of her passing, TerBlance’s publicist, Lisa Rodrigo, said in a statement: “She was and always will be a beautiful soul who I will miss every day. I am proud to have known her and call her not only a client but a friend.”
TerBlanche’s career was jumpstarted following her crowning as Miss Teen South Africa in 1991. Subsequently, she starred as Beatrice “Biennia” Maude Hartman in the South African soapie Egoli: Place of Gold from its inception until 1995 (with a guest spot 2004).
The City of Angels called, then so too did the Big Apple. While making the rounds in the latter, TerBlanche was cast as AMC’s Gillian, a bona fide, scandal-prone Hungarian princess. Thoroughly captivating on her own, Gillian’s profile was further elevated once paired with Cameron Mathison’s Ryan Lavery.
Gillian met an ultimately tragic, untimely end, though TerBlanche did briefly reprise the part as the sudser wound down its four-decade-plus run. Her scenes, naturally, were opposite Mathison.
Mathison honored TerBlanche on Sunday via his Instagram Stories. In the first he penned, “RIP my sweet princess,” across a photo of the two of them. In the second he added: Esta helped me last year when [my dog] Red was sick and paralyzed and I was struggling. One of the sweetest people ever.”
TerBlanche’s other credits include stints in The Syndicate and Spin City, a leading role in the flick Three Thieves and a Wedding, and serving as hostess for the environmental program 50/50 and the children’s show, K-T.V.
She is survived by her goddaughter, Barbie Ashley, and ex-husband André Kock.

* While many are bemoaning the (seeming) end of the Shawn Douglas Brady/Belle Black coupling, the latter’s portrayer isn’t one of them. Martha Madison relayed to Woman’s World:
“I love Brandon Beemer, who’s one of my closest friends, and we both have been saying for a long time, ‘Imagine what we could do if we weren’t always fighting, getting a divorce, or cheating on each other. As actors and as characters, we should be doing much more than that.’ Now we are, and I never know what they’re gonna do with me. Every script is a surprise!”
* Per the Tiffany Network, The Price is Right at Night will conclude its Wednesday night run on February 19, then remain on hiatus until Monday, May 12. An additional episode is scheduled for the following week.
* Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, Y&R) has teamed with Tinseltown luminary Dyan Cannon, TV correspondent/author Kym Douglas, and Christine Avanti-Fischer, author of Skinny Chicks Don’t Eat Salads, to headline a brand-new podcast: God’s Table.
In an interview with ‘Woman’s World,’ Bregman recalled, “We were just talking about life and love and struggles, and all of a sudden, I said, ‘God’s table!’ Everybody looked at me weird, but then we all went, ‘Yes, we need to do this.’ We’ve shot three episodes, already, and it’s about infusing faith in our lives. It’s about real-life things that are happening and have happened to us, and how our faith has gotten us through.”
