Like many festive seasons before it, Christmas 2024 will see a dirth of brand-new episodes of your favorite daytime dramas…Days of our Lives excluded, of course. Call that the benefit of airing on a streaming service.
Soap Opera Preemptions December 2024
The Bold and the Beautiful is taking Christmas Day off. Instead of a new episode, an encore from December 24, 2014, will air.
General Hospital won’t be back on the air until Thursday. On Tuesday, an episode from May 22, 2024 will air. On Wednesday, ABC Sports will take over the slot.
The Young and the Restless fans will be treated to a real classic on December 25. The scheduled episode from 1985 will see Victor (Eric Braeden) struggling with his feelings for Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson), Lauren (Tracey Bregman) struggling to connect with Paul, and Danny (Michael Damian) hoping for a Christmas miracle.
Days of our Lives, meanwhile, will upload an episode on both Tuesday and Wednesday. On the 24th, “Rafe confides in Steve, an old acquaintance pays EJ a visit, and Kayla worries about Stephanie.” On the 25th, “Xander and Sarah enjoy the Christmas festivities, Julie questions Doug III, and Tate and Holly share an intimate moment.
