Soap scribe and entertainment journalist Sara Bibel might just be the latest to board the team toiling behind-the-scenes at CBS soon to debut sudser Beyond The Gates.
Sarah Bibel May Be Boarding The Beyond The Gates Team
Bibel recently dropped dual snaps of a control room whose monitors are displaying color bars and the caption Beyond The Gates. “Dropping these right here and saying absolutely nothing else…” she teased.

Bibel began her daytime career in 2005 when she was hired as a story coordinator for the Tiffany network’s top-performing soap, The Young and the Restless. Until 2007, and then from 2017 to 2023, Bibel rose through the ranks and served in a variety of capacities, including scriptwriter, breakdown writer, script editor, and even co-headwriter.
In between stints, she penned scripts for All My Children and worked at Amazon, TV By The Numbers, Xfinity, Biography.com, XO Jane, and Daytime Confidential.
During her time at Y&R, Bibel was responsible for Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) wedding, the episode in which the news of John Abbott’s death was disseminated, and helped shape such tales as Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis’ (Michelle Stafford) affair and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Lily’s (Christel Khalil) elopement.
All About Beyond The Gates
Per the official synopsis:
“Beyond the Gates is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington D.C., and in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States. Here you’ll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home.
“At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those that live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have ‘made it’ and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.”
As previously detailed, Bob Guza (a former headwriter of General Hospital and scribe of multiple other sudsers) and veteran producer Julie Hanan Carruthers (who stewarded, amongst others, Port Charles, GH, and All My Children) have boarded the series as executive producers alongside creatrix/showrunner/headwriter Michele Val Jean.
Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereiner will also serve as EPs.
