Saturday, October 12 was a most auspicious day for leading lady Melody Thomas Scott (the oft-married Nikki Newman, The Young and the Restless) and her real-life love, uber-produce Edward J. Scott as it marked 39 years since they said, ‘I do.’

Scott, a six-time Daytime Emmy Award-winner who’s poised to make his triumphant return to Y&R, and Thomas Scott, a 45-year veteran of Y&R who’s shared the silver screen with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, met, naturally enough, on the set of the CBS sudser.
In her autobiography, Always Young & Restless: My Life On and Off America’s #1 Daytime Drama, Thomas Scott rhapsodized about their early courtship: “Sometimes life is about timing…the stars were aligned for us. That’s the best way to describe it! …together forever. That seems to be our deal.”
The couple, who were honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, share three daughters — Jennifer (his daughter from a previous marriage), Alexandra Danielle Yeaggy (her daughter with the late Carolos Yeaggy), and Elizabeth — and, per CBS, five grandchildren.
