Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for December 22, 2023, details Christmas Eve moments throughout Genoa City.
Christine Claims Her Man
Danny (Michael Damian), Daniel (Michael Graziadei), Heather (Vail Bloom), and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) started off Christmas Eve by decorating the tree. They were all happy to finally celebrate the holidays together after being apart for various years. Summer and Phyllis soon arrived with gifts, and Phyllis immediately set her sights on Danny.
Summer (Allison Lanier) got all sentimental and had family members talk about what they were grateful for this Christmas. As expected, Daniel was thankful for the gift of family after the harrowing year he just had. A tear-filled Phyllis was grateful for the same after she alienated everyone she loved by faking her own death.
When Christine (Lauralee Bell) heard them all singing carols, she hesitated in the hallway but rang the doorbell anyway only to be greeted by Phyllis. The two women stared one another down like it was 1994 while Phyllis reluctantly invited Christine in.
Chris was there to drop off a special gift for Danny, but ended up being invited to spend the evening. After Danny and Chris told some rock star tour stories from the 80s, Summer reminded her mother they had to leave to meet Nick (Joshua Morrow).
Once Chris and Danny were alone together, she gave him a silk robe. Danny had a special gift for Christine as well — an exquisite bracelet like the one he got her on their honeymoon all those years ago.
Michael And Lauren’s Surprises
Earlier, Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) and Christine sat down for a chat at Society, with Lauren fishing for information about what was going on between Chris and Danny. Christine admitted things have been going beyond the friend zone, but she was still being cautious.
Christine left when Michael (Christian Le Blanc) arrived to give his wife a special gift — a room key for the GCAC. She met him there 10 minutes later so that she could receive a second gift. When she arrived, they enjoyed some time in bed before Michael gave her the real gift.
Lauren was touched to open a box with a stunning ring and a proposal from her husband — marry him again. Amazingly, she had the same gift for him with the same question.
Forgiving Tucker?
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) finished up dinner at the GCAC, but they still had some Tucker (Trevor St. John) talk to engage in because it’s a day ending in ‘y’. Devon informed Abby that the Tucker statutory rape coverup story is out there. She was more shocked that Tucker left evidence of his screwup than the actual screwup.
Devon admitted he didn’t know Tucker’s side of the story yet but still didn’t think he’d change his mind on what his father did. Not surprisingly, Tucker soon ended up at their table to discuss the whole scandal.
Tucker told them he didn’t actually participate in a cover-up. When he learned about what the musician did, the man was already in jail, so he cut ties with him and that was that. However, he covered up the actions his employees took to cover up the rape. Abby still took him to task for never condemning the actions.
In the end, Devon assured Tucker that he didn’t want a relationship with him, but he’d still allow him to drop off gifts and visit with Dominic. Abby didn’t look happy about it but went along with the idea anyway.
Tucker sat himself down in the jazz lounge and ended up spending the evening with Phyllis when Nick canceled their dinner due to Newman family problems.
